Bhopal:
Three awards constituted by the Bharatiya Janata Party ruled Madhya
Pradesh Government for the outstanding performance in the sector of
journalism will be conferred on eight journalists.
A sum of Rs. two lakh with citation
will be given to each of the journalists.
Those who would receive the awards
are:- Madhav Govind Vaidh of Nagpur for the year 2008, Hridya
Narayan Dixit of Lucknow for 2009 and Anand Mishra 'Abhya' of
Lucknow for the year 2010 will be decorated with Ganesh Shankar
Journalism Award.
Similarly, Radheshyam Sharma of Panchkula (Chandigarh)
for the year 2009, Jaikrishna Gaud for 2010 will be given away
Manikchand Vajpayee Journalism Award.
Besides, Vidhyaniwas Mishra National
Journalism Award will be conferred on Vaidpratap Vaidik of Delhi for
the year 2008, Jagdish Upasane of Delhi for 2009 and Deepak
Chourasia (Delhi) for 2010.
The Public Relations Department of the
State Government instituted the three awards for journalism based on
value, object orient and development in the names of three
luminaries, viz. Manikchand Vajpayee Journalism Award, Ganesh
Shankar Vidhyarthi Journalism Award and Vidhyaniwas Mishra
Journalism Award.
The objective of the Government is to
commemorate these great personalities by constituting awards in
their names as well as promote journalists of new generation through
these awards.
It may be mentioned here that the award amount has been increased to
Rs. two lakh from Rs. one lakh. The amount has been doubled at the
initiative of Public Relations Minister Mr. Laxmikant Sharma.
The
award giving ceremony shall be held on March 26 at Ravindra Bhawan
at 6 p.m.
