Bhopal:
A German publishing house has published a book of Bhopal's young
engineer Atif Aziz on Mechanical Engineering authored by him.
Atif Aziz book has been published by Lambert Academic Publishing,
Germany, in January this year which is entitle as “Investigating
the modelling capabilities for freeform geometries”.
Atif is a young Mechanical Engineer who obtained his Master’s
degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds,
United Kingdom.
He did his MBA from Bhopal’s Barkatullah
University. He is the editor of a reputed International Journal of
Ultra Scientist of Physical Sciences. He has worked in CSIR
Laboratory, India. He has to his credit several articles which
have been published in reputed journals.
He is the son of Dr. Aziz-ul-Hasan Ansari, Professor of Chemistry
who retired from local Saifia Post-Graduate College of Science.
Atif’s book investigates the capabilities of two softwares viz.
Computer Aided Industrial Design, (CAID), software and Mechanical
Computer Aided Design, (MCAD), software on the modelling of
artefacts which have got freeform geometry. In this modern world
of competition products are not only designed considering the
functionality but special considerations are given to its
form/aesthetic which can bring a desire in the mind of consumer to
own that product. It is used in Automobile Industry, Fast-moving
consumer goods, (FMCG), and Aircraft Industry.
Feature modelling is nowadays the predominant way of product
modelling. The modelling facilities of feature modelling systems
are quite diverse, but a major shortcoming in nearly all of them
is that their shape domain is limited to use of primitive shapes.
Because of strength, flow, aesthetic or other requirements,
products often contain freeform surfaces, the book states.
