After the declaration of JEE Main 2019 results, the candidates are required to check the qualifying cut-off.
The cut-off will allow the candidates to know their chances of admission into IITs, NITs, and GFTIs.
The JEE (Main) April 2019 was conducted throughout the country and abroad on 07th ,8th , 9th ,10th and 12th April 2019 through the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in which 9,58,619 candidates were registered. This is for the first time the exam was conducted twice in the year.
The NTA had earlier released JEE Main April 2019 Answer Key.
As per the schedule released by the NTA, JEE Main April 2019 result was scheduled to be declared on April 30. However, it was anticipated that JEE Main April 2019 result will be delayed by few days because of score and JEE Main percentile calculation.
On the basis of JEE Main 2019 Score, JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) list will also be prepared. This is also the first time that JEE Main has been conducted twice in the year. And, for preparation of JEE Main All India Rank (AIR), a proper calculation of JEE Main score is also essential. This is why, reports said, the entire process is taking more time than expected earlier.
Candidates should note that only the All India Rank (AIR) is used for admissions through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)/Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to NITs/ IIITs/ CFTIs/ SFIs/ Others, while other ranks are for information purposes.
Candidates who have appeared in JEE Main January and JEE Main April both exams should note that the Ranks of the candidates will be released taking into consideration better of the two NTA Scores of all candidates appeared in JAN 2019 and APRIL 2019 examinations and in accordance with the policy already made available on the website.
Candidates should also note that no score/rank card will be dispatched to the candidates and the candidates are advised to download their score/rank cards from the NTA JEE (Main) website.
Since the candidates were given different sets of papers, some of them may end up attempting a relatively tougher set of questions when compared to other sets. The candidates who attempt the comparatively tougher examination are likely to get lower marks as compared to those who attempt the easier one. In order to overcome such a situation,“Normalization procedure based on Percentile Score” will be used for ensuring that candidates are neither benefitted nor disadvantaged due to the difficulty level of the examination.
With the objective of ensuring that a candidate’s true merit is identified, and that a level playing field is created in the above context, the Normalization Procedure, set out below shall be adopted, for compiling the NTA scores for multi session papers.
The process of Normalization is an established practice for comparing candidate scores across multi session papers and is similar to those being adopted in other large educational selection tests conducted in India. For normalization across sections, NTA shall use the percentile equivalence.
Candidates should note that online registration for JEE Advanced 2019 will start only after JEE Main April 2019 result and JEE Main AIR 2019 are published. So far, IIT R has only started registration of foreign nationals for JEE Advanced 2019.
IIT Roorkee has already said it will start JEE Advanced 2019 registration for Indian students from May 03. The last date to apply for JEE Advanced 2019 is set as May 10, 2019.
