New Delhi: Demonstrating live in Delhi Assembly how Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) can be tampered, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj on Tuesday challenged the Modi government to provide access to the voting machines before polling in Gujarat and the party will show how it wins on all seats.
"Ninety seconds is all it takes under the nose of your police, your bureaucracy by engineers from a company that you own to hack EVMs before elections. Just let us inside the government store room with the EVMs in Gujarat and we will hack them if you wish", Bhardwaj said in Delhi Assembly on Tuesday.
"Provide us the EVMs just three hours before polling starts in Gujarat. Let alone a seat, you will not win a single polling booth", he added.
Saurabh Bhardwaj during the day-long special session of Delhi Assembly called on Tuesday demonstrated live "how Electronic Voting Machines or EVMs can be rigged."
Besides party MLAs, Bhardwaj's demonstration was watched by the Janata Dal (U), Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) and Left party leaders.
During his more than 40-minute live presentation, Saurabha Bhardwaj, an engineer with international expereince, entered votes in the EVM and then demonstrated how votes cast for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) went to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
Before that the AAP legislator also showed how the EVM initially gives proper and correct result. But, after it is rigged using secret codes, votes polled by the AAP goes to the BJP.
“Before voting day candidates are fooled into believing that the machines are fine. This is done during the mock test,” Bhardwaj said.
The AAP test was conducted on a machine "similar" to an EVM and not an original EVM, he clarified.
"There are secret codes that can be used to decide on the day of voting which candidate can win," alleged Bhardwaj who introduced himself as a former computer science engineer.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was in the House sitting alongside his deputy Manish Sisodia.
Meanwhile, Election Commission of India (ECI) sources said that the AAP had demonstrated the alleged rigging on a prototype EVM and challenged AAP to prove it during an official EC hackathon challenge.
