Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian young tennis player Imran Daniel Zainuddin has won on Sunday the boys' "10-and-under" and "under-11" titles at the World Junior Tennis Masters in Turkey, NST reported.
Coached by his father and former international player, Abdul Hazli Zainuddin, the 10-year-old battled for more than three hours to subdue the Romanian top seed Dan Vasile Duta in the Under-11 singles final.
In the 10-and-under final match, Zainuddin overwhelmed his Dutch opponent Manvydas Balciunas and won two clean sets "6-0, 6-0".
The boy's father, who has previously achieved the national 2nd ranked player, was delighted with his son’s achievement.
“I have promised him a drift remote control car if he emerged champion here. I think it motivated him", father of the 10-year-old champion said.
"I had focused on his fitness for the last two months, and it paid dividends", he added.
