New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was Friday named the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.
The announcement was made here after the meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary board, one of the party's top decision making panels.
The day saw hectic parleys with party president Rajnath Singh trying to get all leaders, including senior leader L.K. Advani, on board.
Modi, 62, heads the party's campaign committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
